Maksim is brilliant, he’s an absolute genius in his field. He’s obsessed with proving that his technology is best in the world and no one can outclass it. Maksim believes that the “Glorious Evolution” is the next stage of human progress towards perfection. Thanks to the his past experiences, he doesn’t trust a lot of people. Despite being a half-machine, he can be seen as very charismatic man, who went through a lot of adversity to get to his current position. Calm, cautious and analitycal are major characteristics of Maksim thanks to the eradication of his human emotions, though he still retains his humanity.






Early in life (around the age of 16), Maskim discovered his passion for science and invention, particularly in the field of mechanical automation. He was dreaming about the day he will help the world, that he will manage to find a way to make humanity immune to diseases, make everyday people life a lot more easier and happy, all of that with the help of the technology. He attended a prestigious University of Technology in Japan (which is not his foreign country) and, after 5 years of hard work, led the team that constructed F.A.L - First Augmented Life form - a scientific breakthrough that he expected to vault him to the top of his profession. Unfortunately his triumph was usurped by chancellor of the university - Juro Kichirou, who stole credit for developing F.A.L’s sentience and later used Maksim’s research to sell the idea to military for a enormous amount of money. Maksim’s appeals for justice fell on deaf ears, and he sank into a deep depression. He withdrew from the University and barricaded himself in his private laboratory, cutting all human ties. There, in secret, he conceived a project for which nobody else could claim credit. Desiring both to revolutionize his field and to eliminate the jealous human emotions which festered inside him, he engineered parts to replace and improve his own body.


While he was going back to his laboratory with the new materials for his project, he was suddenly attacked by thugs sent by Juro, just to rub his victory over him right at his face. They’ve beat Maksim badly, breaking his legs and burning his face with acid. The pain that Maksim felt was unbelievable. He coulnd’t even scream, because acid could went in his mouth, threatening his health even more. When they were sure that Maksim is still alive, thugs left him in the alley.


He managed to get back to his laboratory barely crawling, with each move bringing pain, but he didn’t surrender. He has to press on, to continue his research. The years of hard work begin. First, he cut off both of his legs, replacing them temporarily with primitive prosthesis, as he seen his limbs to be a more of a hindrance in his work. He constructed each part of his body with extreme care, making sure that they’re the best he can do. He also made an additional hand on his back both for utility and for battle purposes. It is equipped with heavily concetrated laser that can easily burn through a metal, and that’s on the weakest setting. After 6 years of work in isolation from any human contact, his greatest achievement was finally complete.


When Maksim re-emerged, almost no trace of the original man remained. Not only had he supplanted the majority of his anatomy, but his personality had changed. His previous hope to better society was replaced by an obsession with what he called ''The Glorious Evolution.'' He saw himself as the patron and pioneer of world’s future - a future in which man would renounce his flesh in favor of superior technological augmentations. Though Maksim's initial appeals were met with heavy skepticism, scientists were confounded by the sophistication of his machinery. By integrating his mind with technological devices, he had been able to drastically accelerate the progress of his research. His transformation had stripped him of what he perceived as his emotional weaknesses, but there was some lingering residue of resentment against the Juro Kichirou.


In the past Maksim experienced a great injustice, so he decided to finaly do something with this. As things stand, the law system is extremely corrupted. It can barely be even caled a law, since the only thing that matters is money, so Maksim decided to get rid off the corrupted officials, going from the bottom of the law system up to the top, cleansing any wrongness in his way. Thanks to his very quick learing capabilities (reading and fully remembering a 1000 page book takes him a half of the hour) it took only two weeks to put every corrupted official in prison, thanks to the irrefutable evidence.


After this, Maksim took the role of the leader of the Simorgh. He quickly filled the places with the carefully chosen people and also rewritten most of the laws to smooth eventual paperwork. Of course, so sudden change of rules was very unexpected (and mostly unwanted), since from now on money won’t work. People who wanted “the rule of money” back were very suprised when they couldn’t do anything, because no one would listen to them. They didn’t even know who did this, since Maksim appeared suddenly and striked very fast, so his position was safe. Maksim now has all the time he needed to study and practice his dueling skills.


One day, while he was exploring the enormous library of Simorgh, he found a peculiar book with both bizzare and interesting cover. Interested, Maksim opened it, but the text was unreadable, like it was written in some kind of code. This made him even more interested, so he took the book with him to his new, private laboratory under Simorgh. Decrypting one page would normally took months, but for Maksim it’s the matter of hours. After decoding the first page it suddenly made sense. It turned out that the book was Grimoire, filled to the brim with magic spells. Excited, Maksim decided to test this. When he read the first sentence, a lightning came out of his hand. Fortunately it didn’t hit anything important, but raw power of electricity was strong enough to make the whole laboratory brighter. This gave Maksim a whole new posibilities to use his technology.


Maksim constructed a staff which allowed him to channel his magical power through it, making casting spells even easier. It also serves as a device filled to the brim with technology, which allows to turn on/off any device. Also anyone who touches it will be electrocuted with the power strong enough to efficiently stun an elephant. Even if this obstacle would be bypassed, the staff is synchronized with Maksim’s magical power, so it would take someone of equal magical power and knowledge about technology to even try to use it in the way that would not kill or severely hurt the person using it. Maksim also can bring his staff back to him from the distance of max. 2 kilometers, he can also sense where it is when it’s farther away. This way he created first device of the new school of magic: Technomancy.


Maksim still had one more thing to do: to settle things with his old chancellor. Maksim quickly discovered where he was residing and at night, without anyone noticing, he decided to go there. Thanks to his staff he quickly neutralised all of the security measures, such as cameras, laser traps and even battle robots that Juro was given for “self defense”. All of those meant nothing for Maksim, as he seen those as “inferior constructs”. He easily reached Juro, first breaking the door, then pulling him out of the bed by his neck with his third hand and pushing him down to the wall. “Do you remember me?!” he asked with his deep, robotic voice. Juro, barely speaking, responded “W-who.. are you?...”. Maksim took off his mask, revealing his badly burned face. Juro instantly remembered who he was. He was the one who send thugs to do this to him. He was the one who stole Maksim’s ideas and dreams about bright future, all for money. He knew he won’t make this alive, but he still begged for life, like a cowardly dog. The sound which stopped his pleas was his neck breaking.
